Private Lawrence Edward Ryder, only son of Mr. and Mri. W. Ryder, 19, Maya Street, Devonport, who has been reported killed in action. He was educated at Sacred Heart College and was well known in sporting circles. Private Ryder left New Zealand in 1940 and served in Greece and the second Libyan campaign.
