PRISON MYSTERY

LUXURIES FOR RICH IX GAOL Rec. 1.30 p.m. LONDON, July 16. Large quantities of rationed food are being smuggled to men and women held in Brixton Gaol under the defence regulations. Among those receiving food is Sir Oswald Mosley, the Fascist leader. The Prison Officers' Association has complained to the Minister of Home Security, Mr. Morrison. "Pounds and pounds of butter, bacon, cheese and other food have been taken to detainees, and we don't know where it comes from," said an officer. He added: "These people are being pampered and mollycoddled to such an extent that it is difficult to maintain discipline. They are getting to a stage where they think they can do as they like. Some have even been allowed to have radios and typewriters in their cells."
