SPORTSMAN'S ILLNESS

Improved in health, Mr. Charles Boyle, a widely-known Wellington sportsman, left a private hospital yesterday and intends to spend some time with friends at Culliwick Road, Mission Bay. Mr. Boyle took ill immediately after he arrived in Auckland to see the last Great Northern carnival, and entered hospital for an operation. Mr Boyle has raced numerous horses during the last 30 years, and he has the distinction of having broken in Motfaa, the only horse from the Southern Hemisphere to win the Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase, run over the famous Aintree course.
