AVONDALE SHOWS NET PROFIT OF £1169
Favoured with fine weather for its meetings, although losing one day as a result of the curtailment of racing, the Avondale Jockey Club made a net profit this season of £1169 8/4. This is disclosed in the report and balance-sheet, to be presented to members by the president, Mr. J. E. Wells, on Tuesday next. During the year the deaths of Messrs. D. McLeod, T. J. W. Buxton, G. A. Hodgson, B. Myers and G. A. Wynyard, all members of the club, occurred. , . Messrs. J. E. Wells and J. Archibald are the only nominees for the respective offices of president and vice-president, and Messrs. E. T. Bain, J. C. Beale. P. J. Delaney, G. McCarthy and J. H. Walters for the vacancies on the committee, as these do not exceed the number required an election will not be necessary.
