COMPASSIONATE GRANTS
M.P.'S WHO DIED ON SERVICE (0.C.) WELLINGTON, this day. Details of the Public Accounts which have become available show that the Government has made the following compassionate grants to widows of members of the House of Representatives who died last year on active service:—Lieutenant Colonel J. M. Allen £500, Major A. N. Grigg £500, Lieutenant A. G. Hultquist £500. The widow of the late Public Service Commissioner, Mr. T. Mark, has a compassionate grant of £1500.
