"TOO MANY FASCISTS"
FEDERAL MINISTER'S CHARGE Special Australian Correspondent. Rec. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, this day Too many "Fascists" were holding high positions in the army, said the Minister of Labour, Mr. Ward, addressing a public meeting at Adelaide. He advocated promotion "by merit," and challenged men of independent means to "give up their club lounges and golf, and work as any ordinary worker—on a Central Australian aerodrome or in a factory."
The Minister promised to ask Cabinet to take more drastic action against war profiteers by imprisonment and not by fine or by allowing them to repay their overcharges.
