CRASH IN CAR

TRAVELLER'S DEATH

VERDICT AT INQUEST

A verdict that death was the result of injuries received when the car he was driving accidentally collided with a power pole in Hillsboro Road on May 24, was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, to-day. at the inquest into the death of a single man, William Schultz, a commercial traveller, aged 31.

Constable Pringle said he found a car had crashed into a pole in Hillsboro' Road about 3.25 a.m. on May 24. Witness noticed two men, of which Schultz was one, walking about the car. Both were in a dazed condition, with blood over their faces and clothing. Witness noticed large quantities of broken beer bottles and glasses in the car, while beer had been spilt over the floor of the car. Neither of the men had anything to say about the accident. Schultz was taken to hospital, where he died. The other man made a statement to the police tha* he was in the front seat, but said he was asleep at the time of the accident.
