ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Rec. noon. SYDNEY, this day. The Minister of War Organisation of Industry, Mr. Dedman, has not been impressed by the legal argument that a ban on the manufacture of engagement rings constitutes a restraint against marriage. "If doing without engagement rings is all the sacrifice that Australians have to make in this war, we shall be a very lucky people," he said.
