CITY COUNCIL POSITION

When Mr. Leonard Coaklev asked the Mayor. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, at last night's meeting of the Auckland City Council whether it was the intention of the council to subscribe to the Liberty Loan, Mr. Allum said that the council was not in the position to do so at the present time. He explained that all the funds for investment held by the council were in the hands of sinking fund commissioners and the council had no other money to invest.
