MARTIAL MUSIC

PARADE IN CITY

ARMED FORCES ON PARADE

The sun shone on fixed bayonets when a large parade of military forces marched through the city at noon to-day to stimulate the Liberty Loan and the selling of bonds to the public. From Grafton Road, the parade marched down Queen Street to the Chief Post Office. Military bands led the battle-dressed men, and a pipe band led members of the air force. All along the route the sidewalks were lined with spectators, and thousands of people gathered at the foot of Queen Street. On reaching there one of the camp bands, in charge of Lieutenant R. Francis, assembled in front of the Post office and played a number of marches.

A large number of bond-sellers were active, and there was a good response to the appeal.
