FAILURE TO REGISTER
WARNING BY MINISTER (P.A. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. "It is known that a number of men and women liable for registration under orders relating to the direction of labour into essential work have not yet fulfilled their obligation; in fact, I hold a schedule of names of many of these persons living in practically every part of the Dominion." said the Minister of National Service. Mr. Semple. The Minister added that in view of the wide publicity given to the effect of orders under the National Service Regulations there should be little excuse for failure to register.
"I realise," the Minister continued, "that there may be cases where people, both men and women, have not fully realised their obligations, but a warning is now given that after 10 days from publication of this statement persons whom it is found have deliberately or negligentlv failed to register will be prosecuted.'"
