MESSAGE TO DR. BENES

(P.A.) WELLINGTON. Wednesday. The Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, has sent the following cablegram to Dr. Bepes, leader of the Free CzechoSlovakian Government in London, on the occasion of his birthday, May 28: "On behalf of the Government •and people of New Zealand, I desire to convey birthday greetings and express the hope that the day is not far distant when peace and freedom are restored to your fellow countrymen and that you yourself will resume once again on your own soil those tasks of statesmanship to which your abilities so long have been I devoted."
