SHOCKING TORTURE
Wife Branded On Back With Red Hot Poker HUSBAND GETS 18 MONTHS Rec. noon. LONDON, May 26. For branding the word "liar" on his wife's hack with a poker, James Taylor, of Dudley, was sentenced to 18 months. The prosecutor stated that Taylor a year ago accused his wife of associating with other men and made her strip and lie beside a fire while he heated a poker and then burned "liar" on her back. The word is still legible. Last month Taylor again burned his wife, who complained to the police. Mrs. Taylor said she was prepared to forgive her husband.
