AWARDED £500
The action in which a returned soldier, John Frederick Rowlands, now a carpenter, aged 22 years (Mr. H. A. Anderson) claimed £750 general damages from Albert Veart (Mr. Goldstine) in respect to injuries arising from a motor accident which occurred in February, 1939, was concluded in the Supreme Court when the jury awarded plaintiff £500 general damages, in addition to £283 special damages which had been agreed upon between the parties. In the interim between the accident and the action plaintiff had enlisted and got to Egypt before being posted unfit on account of an injury received in the accident.
