OYSTER SEASON OPENS
The rock oyster season will open in Auckland to-morrow, and will extend over three months. For the last two weeks, pickers have been busy and ample stocks have been prepared for sale. Owing to the shortage of fish, a big demand is expected for these oysters, which are of a high standard. Some difficultv was experienced in obtaining pickers, but the position is now satisfactory, and no trouble is anticipated in transporting the oysters to the city from the beds. At the Government depot, the price will be about 1/ for three dozen.
