Town Planning - I' was r,-ported that the town planning scheme with the seal of the Town r'-ii.nins? Department attached, and the town plan t ing maps of the borough had come to hand. that the scheme was now in full ope»ation in the district.
Siotrr Rene Shadbolt Park -Advice was received from the Commissioner of Crown Lands that he was prepared to mak? a recommendation to his d-oartmerit to name officially the Portage Road reserve the "Sister Rene Shadbolt Park." Before doing so. however, the council would have to undertake to administer the reserve as a separa.e domain in which case separate minutes and accounts would have to be kepi.-The council agreed to the proposal. Insurance Tariff.--The mayor reported that the district had been visited by the Chief Inspector of the Accident and Fire Underwriters Association in connection with the council's application to have the borough placed or. a more favourable ratine. He stated that the inspector would maka final check up of the water supply system in The course of a few days, when the council's representations would be finally considered by the association.
