BOXER KILLED

Previously reported missing and wounded, Private Brian McKay, well-known New Zealand professional boxer, is now presumed to have been killed in Libya on December 5. The youngest son of Mrs. M. McKay, 101, Park Road, Parnell, he was educated at Hastings Central school, and came into sport-

ing prominence in 1937 when he won the Waikato amateur feather-weight boxing title. He Was later a close contender for the New Zealand title. He turned professional in 1938, boxing sucessfully as a lightweight. He left New Zealand with the Second Echelon. His eldest brother, Private Sid. McKay, was accidentally killed in Greece.
