CLOTHING RAIDS
"Snowdropping' Reported In Brisbane WOMEN HEAVY LOSERS Rec. 2 p.m. BRISBANE, this day. Clothes rationing has brought about a revival of "snowdropping" in Brisbane, and suburban housewives have had occasion to repent leaving their washing on the line over night. Some of the raiders have shown a good deal of taste, taking women's underclothing and stockings, but first making sure that they matched. Five pairs of silk stockings taken from one line was one real domestic tragedy. An enterprising individual who visited an unlocked laundry where clothes were soaking for the morrow's wash wrung out the most desirable articles and departed without disturbing a soul.
