NEW POST FOR HEAD OF C.1.0. Rec. 9.30 a.m. NEW YORK, May 24. Reports from Cleveland, Ohio, state that the president of the Congress of Industrial Organisations, Mr. Phillip Murray, has been elected president of the United States Steel Workers of America at a yearly salary of 20.000 dollars. Mr. Murray, who is now vice-president of the United Mine Workers, did not indicate whether he would relinquish the latter post.
