ALLIED TRADE UNIONS
FORM OF COLLABORATION Rec. noon. WASHINGTON, May 24. Sir Walter Citrine, general secretary of the British Trade Union Congress, told President Roosevelt that the American Federation of Labour had agreed to a form of collaboration with British and Russian unions for the duration of the war. Sir Walter said he had proposed that American organised labour should participate in a British, American and Soviet trade union committee. The American Federation of Labour executive council made counterproposals which had been cabled to London and Sir Walter told the Press that the counter-proposals did not go as far as he would like, but they were definitely in favour of a form of collaboration and undoubtedly represented a step in the right direction.
