GRAIN AND PRODUCE
The following is the official market reoort. of the Auckland Grain. Seed and Produce Merchants' Association.— Wheat.—Good stocks are held by merchants, and as future shipments are very indefinite, it is probable that these will have to be drawn on for some time. Through store prices range from 7 3 to 7/4 per bushel. Maise.—The demand lor maize is good and there are now only a few days left during which the specially reduced prices apply for deliveries direct from the Bay or over the wharf at Auckland. Buyers are therefore un?ed to cover their requirements immediately, af. after this month prices will revert to the old figure, which was 4d per bushel higher. Oats.—The demand Is fair and the market Arm. Through store B Gartons are selling at from 5 8 to 5-9 per bushel. Barley.—The advent of cooler weather is increasing the demand for barley, good stocks of which are held by merchants. Undipped barley is selling at from 6 3 to 6 6 ner bushel and clipped at from 6 9 to 7/ per bushel. Barleymeal.—There is a strong inquiry for barleymeal. which Is likely to be even greater from now on. Prices range from £14 to £14 15/ per ton. Stockmeal.—There is still no advice of anv shipment of stockmeal. stocks of which are practically unobtainable. Chaff. —The chaff market is very firm, while the supply position is affected by the difficulty in obtaining shipping space. Through store prices for GBOS are £11 10/ to £12 15. per ton.
