New business written by the Australian Mutual Provident Society increased in both ordinary and industrial departments in 1941. The total increase was £4.927,393 to £27.939.047. Funds show an Increase of £8.032.300 to £129.635.548. Interest earned on the mean funds decreased to £4 6'3 per cent from £4 7 3 per cent. Of an assets total of £135.131,279, Government and semi-govern-ment securities amount to £82.185.381 against £75.302.514 a year earlier. Taxation paid was £442,832 against £389,185 in 1940. In the ordinary department, commission, management expenses and taxation absorbed 18.03 per cent of premium Income, against 15.85 per cent in 1940. In the Industrial department the percentage was 28.81, against 27.94.
