AUCKLAND PREPARATIONS
SUNDAY ENTERTAINMENT
Sunday entertainment for members of the armed forces was further discussed at a meeting this morning of the sub-committee set up in connection with the reception and entertainment of overseas servicemen.
There were present the Mayor u r : i"?' A " c - A 'lum, Mr. G. W Hutchison, chairman of the sub-com-mittee. Dr. T. Buxton. Dean W Fancourt, Rev. A. Everill Orr. Rev W ?°^ er J B i ack ' MG ssrs. N. Heath, m" J- Moodabe and G. Bush. Mr G A Hayden, secretary of the Nationai Patriotic Fund Board, also attended. After the meeting, Mr. Allum said the Plans were to provide recreation on Sunday afternoons, and pictures and concerts on Sunday evenings outside of church hours. Grounds would be made available, and games would be organised if desired Mr. Allum added that the entertainment facilities would not be available to the general public. Each serviceman would be allowed to take a friend. e
