EMERGENCY SUPPLIES
FOOD IX AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY. May 22
Two million pounds' worth of essential foodstuffs has now been distributed through 900 towns in all parts of Australia, announces the Official Emergency Food Supplies Control. This is part of the Commonwealth's decentralised food plan to offset war risks. These supplies are additional to the huge stocks being carried in country centres to meet possible evacuation needs. The Government is also opening bulk stores at key-points. Each of stores will hold £60,000 worth of essential foods.
