MEXICAN PROTEST

REJECTED BY AXIS XATIOXS

MEXICO CITY, May 22. The Mexican Foreign Office has announced that the Axis nations rejected Mexico's protest Note and her demand for complete satisfaction over the sinking of the Mexican tanker Portrero Dellano. In announcing this yesterday the Government spokesman in Mexico City said the question of whether Mexico would now declare war on Germany would be decided at a congressional commission to meet to-day. The Foreign Minister of Mexico said: "President Camacho will decide what steps the honour and dignity of our country demand."

A second Mexican tanker has meanwhile been torpedoed off the Brazilian coast.
