OBITUARY
MBS. J. MeLEOD. Mrs. Mary McLeod, aged 79, has died at her residence, 11, Goring Road. Born Auckland in 1862, Mrs. McLeod was the youngest daughter of the late James Lye, who arrived in the first ship to Taranaki. the William Brvant. which arrived
in 1841. Mrs. McLeod, who had spent all her life in Auckland, was married to Mr. John McLeod of this city 59 years ago. She is survived by her husband, two sons and two daughters. Her only surviving brother is Mr. James Lye, also of Auckland.
MRS. J. THOMAS
The death has occurred of Mrs. Eliza Jare Thomas, aged 80 years, at Devonport. A former resident of Thames and Waihi, Mrs. Thomas was a daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Gribble, who was manager of the Alburnia Mine in the 'seventies. She is survived by her husband, two sons, three daughters, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
