AID TO U.S. FARMERS

SENATE VOTES HUGE SUM

Rec. 9.30 WASHINGTON, May 21

The Senate, by 62 votes to 18, passed the Farm Appropriation Bill, authorising the Administration to spend 680,000,000 dollars and lend 185,000,000 dollars for farming, also to sell Governmental stocks of grain for feeding purposes under parity prices. The bill means a victory for President Roosevelt over the Congressional farm bloc, which stubbornly opposed authority for the Administration to sell farm products under parity.
