BIGAMY ADMITTED
OFFENDER GIVEN PROBATION Having pleaded guilty to a charge of bigamy, Frederick Langstaff Taylor (Mr. Armstead) was admitted by Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court to probation for two years. Mr. Armstead said Taylor had been first married at 21 years of age, and the marriage had been unhappy, causing an early separation, proceedings being taken by the wife. He thought she was then going for divorce. He subsequently met the other woman with whom he went through the form of marriage and to whom he was now happily married.
His Honor nit bigamy occurred back in 1925, and there were no serious consequences to either the first wife, who had now got a divorce, or to the other woman, now married to Taylor. Prisoner would be admitted to probation for two years, and ordered to pay £5 costs.
