SOLDIER'S DEATH
CONTRACTED MENINGITIS
IN CAMP ONLY FEW DAYS (0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Entering a military camp ten days a g°j Mr. Cullen John Finlayson, of Kiripaka. Whangarei. contracted meningitis from which he died in the Auckland Public Hospital yesterday. Aged 40, he was a son of Mrs. and the late Mr. John Finlayson, also of Kiripaka, where he was born. He was educated at King's College and after leaving school assisted in the management of his-father's property. Upon his marriage to Miss Jean Lewis, of Cambridge, he controlled portion of the Kiripaka Estate, upon which he remained until he voluntarily entered the army. Mr. Finlayson was taken ill on Wednesday and was removed to hospital. His only brother, Irven Finlavson, went overseas with the First Echelon.
