PROSPERITY SPHERE

CHUNGKING, May 20.
The Chinese Government has come into possession of an officially aDproved map published in Tokyo showing the projected scope of the Japanese prosperity sphere. A Chungking spokesman, describing the map, said the western boundary runs up the Persian Gulf, thence to the Caspian Sea and onward to the Ural Mountains.
Thus, in addition to China. IndoChina, Thailand. Malaya, Burma, India. Iran and Siberia, the sphere includes a huge oceanic area embracing the Philippines, the Netherlands East Indies, New Guinea, the northern tip of Australia, including Darwin, also Guam, Yap and the whole of Sakhalin Island, but it does not include Hawaii.
