Mr. Mackenzie King told the House of Commons that Canada's relations with Vichy will not be changed for the present. He declared that, after careful consideration and consultation with the British and American Governments, any change at present would be inadvisable.
A report from Washington states that Vichy has launched a shortwave propaganda campaign, designed to woo French Americans away from their allegiance to the United States. The Vichy radio has suggested the development of a French bloc in the United States that will adhere to the ancient traditions rather than to American policies. It points out that several million French-Canadians remain proudly faithful to their traditions.
