It is natural that the cheerful camaraderie of the licensed house should appeal tnese days to a proportion of troops and sailors (as well as civilians), and especially to men of the merchant marine who orave the ever-present dangers of the sea. They deserve cheerful, friendly company: but there is no reason why genuine and liberal hospitality should exceed the bounds of the law and of good manners.
