Petty-Officer Dennis Davis, formerly physical training instructor at naval base, has been missing since the loss of H.M.S. Dunedin last November. He came out to New Zealand on the Dunedin a few years before the outbreak of the war, and later trained boys at the naval base. Well known in Auckland for his interest in amateur sports, he was also for a time physical training instructor to the Y.W.C.A. girls. He left New Zealand two years ago for service overseas.
