Australian As Director Of Schools In Bermuda
METHODS NOT SUITABLE Rec. 10 a.m. NEW YORK, May 19. A message from Hamilton, Bermuda, states that the Assembly yesterday rejected a British recommendation that an Australian be appointed inspector of schools. The Director of Education had asked the British Secretary of State for the Colonies to nominate a man. Members of the Assembly said they believed the American type of education was more suitable for the future life of young people than the British stereotyped, public school plan. The recommendation of the Australian appointee was defeated by 15 votes to 9. The Director of Education agreedfcolookto Canada.
