AMBASSADOR TO JAPAN
LONDON, May 19.
Moscow radio states that M. SmetBnin has been relieved of his post as Ambassador to Tokyo with a view to appointment elsewhere. M. MaliK succeeds/him at Tokyo.
A few weeks nao It was reported that Japan had requested the Soviet to have its Ambassador back In stating that he had been absent from the country for some mcntfu.
