SEVEN MONTHS' KILLINGS The official figures of killings for the present season at the Dominion's freezing works from October 1 till May 2. as issued by the Meat Producers' Board, show that lamb killings to that date total 9,838.416 carcases, a decrease of 53.992 compared with the killings to May 3 last season. Wether mutton killings are 733.630 carcases, and ewe mutton killings 1.833.634 carcases, compared with 540.447 and 1.382,949 carcases respectively last season. Frozen beef production is now 328.357 quarters, compared with 441,687 quarters last season. Porker killings total 161.060 carcases, an increase of 11,067. while baconers total 216,271 carcases, a decrease of 80,237.
