CHEQUE NEARLY £I.o*o. M>o (0.C.) GISBORNE. this day. Realisations at the recent wool appraisement at Tokomaru Bay bring the total for the season at the three appraisement centres—Tokomaru Bay. Tolaga Bay and Gisborne —up to a little short of £1.000,000. The actual figure, £978,370, Is the largest realisation of the present war period. The clip, which reached 56,880 bales, was the largest during either the present war or the commandeer period In the last war. During the commandeer in 1916-20 values were on a higher level and the biggest clip during those four years, totalling 56,262 bales in 1918-19. brought a distribution of £1,278,223 among the growers of the district, the average district price then being 14.5 d per lb, compared with a basis ol 12',id throughout the Dominion at present.
