FARMER'S DEATH

MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE TWO MEN ON TRIAL (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. Two men appeared in the Supreme Court before Mr. Justice Kennedy to-day charged with manslaughter. The case arose out of the death of .John Meagher, aged 63. farmer, of Makai;e\va. on the morning of Monday. February 23. The accused were William Lawrence, aged 42. farmer, and James Mann, aged 70, miner and rabbiter. both of Makarewa. The case was not finished when the Court rose this evening.

On the night of February 22 a constable was called to Mr. Meagher's farm. Mr. Meagher was suffering from head injuries and he died in hospital next morning.
