POLICE PRESENTATION.

DETECTIVE FAREWEIXED.

Yesterday afternoon members of the Auckland detective staff made a farewell presentation to Detective A. Moore, who has been transferred to Hamilton! Detective Moore joined the force in 1020. and after two years of dutv in a northern railway construction camp he was transferred to Queen's wharf, and later did duty in Freeman's Bav. Later he wa* appointed a detective, and ever since he has been a member of the staff at headquarters, during which time he distinguished himself as a clever, capable and conscientious officer.

In presenting Mr. Monro with an afternoon tea set. case of silver spoons and an electric jus. Sub Inspector S. <;. Hall, in charge of the detective staff, said that Detective .Moore would be a distinct loss to the Police Department in Auckland because of his remarkable knowledge of the criminal fraternhv.

Detective-Sergeants J. Walsh, F. J. Brady, Sergeant C. M. Francis and Detectives T. Sneddon and L. Vial also spoke of Mr. Moore's high qualities as an officer and of the cordial relationships that had always .xMc! in iljj. service and the public.
