SUBMARINE SINKS ITALIAN DESTROYER.
ROME ADMISSION. British Renew Air And Sea Bombardments. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Reed. 1 p.m.) LOXDON, Sept. 26. A Rome communique announces that a British submarine sank an Italian torpedo boat destroyer in the lonian Sea. The majority of the crew were saved. The British renewed their air bombardment on Tobruk. Some private' buildings and a field hospital were dam-; aged, causing casualties of five dead and ten wounded, says the communique. British naval units shelled Sidi Barrani. Italian planes attacked a convoy in the Red Sea, "We also bombed the defences at Otrub, in the Sudan," concludes the statement. According to the British official wireless a British naval communique issued in Cairo to-day states: "Our naval forces again successfully attacked the Sidi Barrani area in the early hours of yesterday and a large fire, accompanied by a series of was observed. The fire was still burning two hours later."
