FROM LOW LEVELS. Concentrated Attacks By R.A.F. On Channel Ports. British Official Wireless. (Reed. 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 26. "In Belgium heavy and medium bomber forces raided docks at Antwerp and a large power station at Brussels," says the Air Ministry communique. "Bombs were seen in both cases to explode within the target area. • "Shipping concentrations and harbour installations at Flushing, Dunkirk, Ostend, Calais and Boulogne were again heavily bombed. The raids started iu the. early hours of Thursday morning and continued until shortly before dawn. "Polish crews operating with the R.A.F. took part in the attacks on Ostend, where hits were scored on main wet docks and quayside basins' in which a number of ships were in line. The attacks were pressed home from low levels in the face of intense anti-aircraft tire and the glare of many searchlights. In addition to the damage caused by high explosive bombs, they started heavy fires within the docks by incendiary bonibs. "Fires and heavy explosions were also ( reported at Calais by medium bomber 1 crews, who delivered a concentrated attack lasting half an hour on the lock and shipping basins. " At Boulogne, which was raided at interval* for throe and a-half hours, many violent explosions were caused. One" was described as terrillc by an observer and momentarily lit up the whole town. "Great fires wore started around eight of the main bar-in*, and several of these, whusi' flunks U-apcd for :>(IU feet into the air, could he seen by the crews of aircraft approaching the target from aO miles out to sea."
