WOMAN FINED.
SHOPLIFTING CHARGE. ONE ACCUSED ACQUITTED. Two married women, Hilary Fletcher and Muriel Fletcher, appeared on summons before Mr. J. Morling, S.M., in the Police Court to-day charged with stealing, on August 23, a lady's costume valued at £2 19/6 and a baby's coat worth 7/6. Mr. J. J. Sullivan represented Hilary Fletcher, who pleaded guilty, while Mr. Ackins appeared for Muriel Fletcher! who denied the charge. On behalf of his client Mr. Sullivan aid there »as no necessity for her to steal. She had yielded to a sudden impulse. Hilary Fletcher was fined £3. After hearing the evidence of a shop assistant and a constable, Mr. Morliii" said he was not satisfied that the other defendant, Muriel Fletcher, was a partv to the offence, and he dismissed the charge against her.
