MILK COUNCIL.

BY-ELECTION RESULT. MR. A. THOMPSON APPOINTED. As the result of a by-election, Mr. Arthur Thompson, of Morningside, ha* been elected a member of the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council.

Mr. Thompson received 138 votes. The other candidate was Mr. Ernest Frank Andrews, of Balmoral, who received 60 votes. There were six informal votes.

The by-election was caused through the recent death of Mr. J. Haslam. Voting in the by-election was confined to vendors in the council's district.
