STRIKING HARD.
South African Air Force In Action. BOMBING OF TOBRUK. (Reed. 1.30 p.m.) < KUGBY, Sept. 20. A communique issued in Nairobi today states: "Aircraft of the South African Air Force successfully raided Sciasciamanna aerodrome (Abyssinia) for the third time in the past fortnight. Heavy bombs fell on the aerodrome and one Italian aircraft on the ground was destroyed. Normal reconnaissances were carried out by other aircraft. All our machines returned safely. "Italian aircraft attempted two raids on Kenya on Monday, one at Wajir and one on the Tana River area. No damage was done, but there were a few casualties." A Rome communique cabled states: "The enemy bombed Tobruk. hitting houses, and civil and military hospitals. Fifteen persons were killed and 70 wounded. An isolated British plane bombed Kufrav. "We bombed the aerodrome and military fortifications at Bura Fort, a troops camp near Wajir, enemy detachments in the vicinity of Coufina, north of Galayabat. . "The British bombed Diredawa."
