A SINGULAR COINCIDENCE
In a friendly conversation with Dr. Magec, Dr. Thompson, one time Archbishop of York, remarked that it wis a singular coincidence that all his preferments happened simultaneously with the 'birth of his children. With the first he was made Rector of Marylebone; with the second Provost of Queen's; with the' third, Preacher of Lincoln's Inn; with the next, Chaplain to Her Majesty; with another, Bishop of Gloucester and Bristol; and with the lant, Archbishop of York. At this point Dr. Magee interposed with "Quant, suff,' Thompson! There are only two more preferriients for you—Canterbury and Heaven, and we can't spare you for either just yet, you knowl"
