WORKERS' GESTURE.
AMBULANCE SCHEME.
GIFT TO LONDON PLANNED.
Admiration for the heroic stand being made by the people of Great Britain and of those resident in London in particular, against the forces of Xazi aggression, was expressed at a meeting of the Auckland district council of the Federation of Labour, and a motion was carried which is designed to -rive worker* of the Dominion an opportunity of showing their practical appreciation of that stand.
The meeting, which was fully representative of Auckland unionists and wae presided over by the vice-president, Mr. W. J. Cuthbert, unanimously decided that as a gesture of the admiration felt for the heroic stniggle Ikmujt put up by the people of London the council recommend to the national executive that a New Zealand ambulance be presented to the Trade* Council. London, through the British Minister of Supply. It was further recommended that all affiliations of the federation be asked to subscribe to the cost of the ambulance.
