PROPOSED LEGISLATION. OPPOSITION EXPRESSED. HASTINGS, this day. " Opposition to the proposed legislation igiving the Arbitration Court power to fix hours for shopping and deciding the statutory half-holiday, was expressed at a meeting of the Hastings Chamber of Commerce last evening Members resented the treatment being accorded retailers by the present Government and it was contended than any attempt to shorten hours of work should be strenuously opposed. — (Press Assn.)
