PARNELL CRICKET CLUB.
SOME VALUABLE RECRUITS. • J The president. Mr. R. B. Lusk. was in the chair when some flfty members and supporters attended the annual meeting, of the Parnell Cricket Club. The report presented disclosed that though the various teams had not been particularly successful in their respective grades, many fine individual performances were witnessed last season. Outstanding batting performances were given by P. E. Whitelaw. the New Zealand representative, and J. Buchan, a third grade player. In Plunbet Shield games. W. M. Wallaces initial captaincy was noteworthy. The balance-sheet disclosed one ol the most satisfactory credit balances for some years. The club's membership has already been hard hit on account of enlistments for the forces, but useful new members have joined the club. These include W. Bird, a Canterbury representative bateman and J. Capstick. one of the most promising of Wellington's younger players.
