N.Z.A.A.A. TREASURER.
FORMER NATIONAL 220 CHAMPION. A Press Association message from Wellington states that Mr. L. A. Tracy has been appointed treasurer of the New Zealand Boxing Council. This was done to fill the vacancy caused by the death ■of Mr. E. A. Dawson, who was many, years railway stationmaster at Thofndon. Tracy, besides representing Victoria College at Rugßy in the days of G. G. Aitken (captain of New Zealand in the Dunedin and Auckland Tests against the 1921 Springboks), was a noted runner. He won the national furlong event in 1924 at Dunedin, and in the following year at Wanganui ran a dead-heat with R. Morgan (Otago). Tracy's times in those years were 22 4-5s and 23 l-ss. In 1923 at Wellington, when he was third in the New Zealand championship to M. M. Kirksey (U.S.A.) and another overseas visitor, the winner clocked 21 4-ss.
