OBITUARY.
MRS. E. DUDER.
The death has occurred of Mrs. Edith Duder, of Devonport, in her SOth vear. Mrs. Duder was born in London, and as a child was taken to [ndia where her father was employed as a civil engineer. After his death, her mother married a sea captain named Grant, who took his step-daughter around the world' in the ship Himalaya. They, called at many ports and spent much tinia in New Zealand waters. Two years later she sailed with him from England to Wellington, in the schooner Jasper. Mns. Duder married CJaptain Duder in Wellington and made a number of voyages with him on vessote which he commanded in the intercolonial trade. In 1894 Captain Duder Jeft the sea to 'become depnty-harbourmftster in Auckland and in the following year was appointed harbourmaster, a position he held until hie retirement in 1913. After his death in 19:iri, Mrs Duder, went to England to visit her son, Mr. Xelson Duder. She is survived bv' two, sons and a daughter. There are eight' grandchildren.
